From the Paper:

"American parents would make very different decisions about how they vaccinate their children were they given the proper information,"claimsReneToko, founder of Hope for Autism, an advocacy organization which speaks out against vaccination efforts. Toko's group echoes the concerns of a growing number of Americans skeptical about vaccine safety. But isToko right? What is the proper information? Unfortunately, a great number of people, includingToko, have been misrepresenting the facts to suit their own interests. Although this vaccination predicament may seem trivial, it is in fact crucial in terms of today's concern over public health. This issue affects everyone with a concern about their own health. Given that attacks against vaccines are increasing, there is now a threat that public health in America may be in jeopardy. In order to stop this problem, such sentiments must be curbed. When attitudes towards vaccination are healthy, our nation's future will be far better off. As a society, it is crucial to recognize the truth about vaccines, understand the risks associated with vaccination, and know what options are available to families after vaccination if a problem were to occur. In order to address these concerns, society must recognize that the mandate to vaccinate is a mandate to educate. If vaccine skeptics were presented the facts, they would vaccinate their children.
"The recent spike of anti-vaccinationists is well documented, from inside the walls of law schools to conversations at science festivals. With more people like Toko attacking longstanding immunization practices, what is one to think regarding the safety of vaccination? It is crucial to separate the fact from fiction and the truth from tall-tale. If anti-vaccinationists like Toko are right, the public would have to critically reexamine the role of vaccines in society. In fact, it might even be said that vaccines, which have successfully scaled back the destruction of deadly disease in modern history, might just be a detriment to society. In order to determine who is right, it is important to get to the roots of the modern controversy. So while it is important to mention vaccines have been surrounded by controversy since their start, as history of vaccines.org - an acclaimed scientific site dedicated to furthering the advance of medicine- shares; the most recent pushback is especially frightening."
