Description:

The paper relates that Zhuang-zi was considered one the fathers of the religion, since he is thought to have written the first seven chapters of Taoism text called Zhuang-zi (Robinet & Brooks 33). The paper looks at how he writes about serenity, unity, and rejection of the world and gives each these notions saliency. The paper discusses how Zhuang-zi believed that the world is covered in a thick fog of darkness and that it was impossible to address life with stark language, and so Zhuang-zi used certain words to express endless changes, give a ring of truth to his passages, and to give the world around him greater breadth (De Bary, Bloom, Chang, Adler, & Lufrano 268).
