One of the most recognized images of Columbus' arrival is a 1493 wood engraving that was used to represent a letter regarding the discovery to a king's representative, shows King Ferdinand with a robe with a crucifix on his crown on one side of a shore and Columbus in a dark admiral's hat beside his crew on the other side ..."
