Jegasothy in "Population and Rural-Urban Environmental Interactions in Developing Countries", urbanization is the process of rural populations moving into urban areas (Jegasothy 1031). However, it must be remembered that urbanization is a very diverse phenomena. It happens at different rates in different countries. It also takes different forms depending on social, economic, political, environmental and cultural factors within a given country."
