Description:
The paper reviews the manner in which tuberculosis - a notorious and very dangerous microbial malady - is addressed by the popular press. In particular, the paper looks at two different newspapers, and shows how one of the papers appears to accentuate the social causes of the disease while the other chooses to stress the contagious nature of the illness without ever delving into the causes for it. In the end, the paper asserts that the former article does a better job than the latter at offering a cure for TB - while simultaneously offering a more holistic look at the illness.
