This paper provides three essays in response to emissions policies, federal and provincial, and their effects on business. The paper addresses the perceived targeting of the transport industry including the very important central Canadian automotive industry, the pros and cons of emissions control policies in terms of larger business/economic objectives and a look at the Pollution Probe as an unique Canadian public interest group that works collaboratively with governments and other non-government groups towards possible solutions. From the Paper:"Since 1990, there has been broad awareness of Canada's greenhouse emissions, owing to a large extent to the Electricity and Petroleum industries that continue to be seen as the greatest offenders. (Olson et al: 2002) According to studies by Environment Canada, since 1990, greenhouse gas emissions have decreased, but the same sectors are responsible with a full 38% of greenhouse gas emissions owing to the industries just mentioned, the greater transportation sector contributing..."
