These documentaries had their start in early television programs such as the 'The Nature of Things' and the 'Zoo Parade' which introduced viewers to animals and animal behavior. The Nature of Things provided nature programming as a great escape while Zoo Parade incorporated footage from travels to exotic locations such as the Amazon jungles."
