This paper offers a study of how systems analysis works. Beginning with the design and implementation stage, the paper explains how a systems analyst recognizes the needs of the company and what is needed to properly address the issues. An effective systems analyst would design a system that meets both current and future projected needs of the customer. The paper then provides information on the various tools available to systems analysts in order to keep the systems design on track with the customer's needs.
From the Paper:"The most important stage in designing a system that meets the needs of the business is the planning and design stage. It is easy for an analyst to jump into the job without a clear picture of what the final product should look like. The system must meet the technical needs, yet still be manageable for the user. Many want to jump from concept to coding without proper attention to the most important part of the process, the planning stage. Often the planning stage is given the least amount of consideration in the design process, when in reality it should be the stage upon which the most emphasis is placed."
