Male Gender Roles in Literature Analytical Essay by Top Papers

This paper analyzes the representation of male gender in Frederick Philip Grove's "Lazybones" and in Thomas Randall's "The Wedding Gift." The paperargues that both authors represent gender in an untypical manner, often portraying gender role reversal. The female heroines in the two stories are uncongenial, strong and determined characters that challenge stereotypical views of women. Nevertheless, the stories also show that despite their best efforts the heroines face restrictions and boundaries they cannot escape from because of their gender.
