This paper considers the works of artist Long Nguyen. In particular, the paper explores what his work reveals about the man's Asian-American culture, about multiculturalism in America, about his ethnic/racial background and his place in a world he does not control. While it is forever open to debate, one can submit that Nguyen's works are meant to focus critical attention upon the way in which the Asian-American society has been despoiled by its treatment at the hands of a society that is still, in many respects, quite racist.
