The paper identifies several important aspects of medical treatment in France in order to determine the overall effectiveness of the French healthcare system. The paper reveals that despite the widespread success of the French healthcare system, some individuals are not receiving adequate healthcare, due in part to living in geographic areas far removed from major urban centers, and there is low-quality care particularly related to chronic diseases in the elderly. The paper then discusses recommendations for the United States healthcare system.

From the Paper:

"According to Peter Owen, the current health care system in the country of France continues to be one of the most efficient and effective systems in the world, despite the fact that it is "expensive to maintain and under constant funding pressure," meaning that the French government often finds it rather daunting to secure the proper funds from its main contributing source, being the working population of the country. Basically, all workers in France, whether employed by large corporations, small businesses or self-employed, "pay about twenty percent of their gross salaries. . . to fund the social security system, known as Securite sociale" which can be compared to the current social security system in the United States."
