"The legislature thus intended the restrictions on the use of a particular class of weapons designated as the "assault weapons as well as establish a process for their sale as also possession". ("Penal Code Section: 12275-12278", n. d.) The restrictions do not extend to weapons that are used for hunting and sports. The law therefore requires citizens to apply for permits and register the weapon with the authorities. The ban therefore is in unauthorized owning the class of weapons. The weapons that were classified in the act includes all Rifles of the AK series "Norinco 56, 56S, 84S, and 86S, Poly Technologies AKS and AK47, MAADI AK47 and AR and twelve others.
