This paper will argue the thesis that while China may be considered "Confucian" since at least the Han Dynasty, many of the fundamental elements of this Confucianism evolved over time and, therefore, it is inaccurate to speak of Confucianism as being "one thing" from the time of the Warring States to the Ming Dynasty."
