This paper is the analytical response to a statistical measurement of the marginal costs versus marginal profits of keeping an alcohol store open later. It looks at statistical data collected over a six month period to determine that despite marginal costs, keeping the store open actually increases the annual gross profit by $40,000. However, the paper points out that there are not direct fixed costs, based on the idea that employee wages change after midnight, and, alcohol sales are seasonal, a fact which this data does not clearly take into effect.
