Description:

This paper examines China's recent economic policy. It explains the features of the policy, particularly their exchange rate policy. The paper then discusses the implication of this policy of China's conversion of exchange rates. Finally, the paper examines further aspects of that policy to demonstrate how the Chinese economy has reached its current condition.

From the Paper:

"Household spending increased as a by-product of reduced unemployment. This reduction in unemployment was achieved with through both the increase in liquidity of the government, creating more public sector jobs, as well as reinvestment in production, which created more jobs for laborers. Further, the goal of freeing conversion that the fixing of China's exchange rate encouraged also brought more labor opportunities as foreign investors began hiring Chinese laborers. This opening of the market to foreign investment contributed to the expansion of the economy, as far as creating disposable income and increasing household spending."
