The paper reveals that bipolar disorder refers to alterations between depression and extreme euphoria which are severely disruptive for the person. In this paper the writer has chosen to analyze bipolar disorder because of personal contacts with individuals who have this disorder; her best friend who has this disorder uses the term manic depression as it more aptly describes personal experience.
