From the Paper:

"This review and theme analysis focuses on the 2009 movie called Case 39. However, before commencing on the analysis of the movie, it is essential to provide a brief overview of the movie. This evaluation looks at the theme of endurance in this supernatural movie. The Merriam Webster Dictionary defines endurance as the ability to deal with pain or suffering that goes on for an extended period of time. This implies that the theme of endurance in Case 39 should be revealed through evidence of characters withstanding hardship or adversity more so through the ability to sustain protracted stressful effort or endeavor.
"Case 39 is a paranormal movie based on a setting where a social worker named Emily Jenkins, who lives in Vancouver, BC, is given her 39th assignment that involves investigating the family of a young girl of about ten named Lilith Sullivan due to a recently witnessed trend in her school performance where Lilith's grades at school have drastically declined and she has demonstrated emotional rift with her parents. Emily looks at the entire issue with suspicion that Lilith's parents might have been mistreating her and gives a proposal to her department where she suggests that they take the child away from the custody of her parents in order to get her out of the misery she faces.
"Emily' suspicions seem to be confirmed to be true when the parents of the young girl attempt to roast her alive in the oven in their house. Just then, Emily arrives with Detective Mike Barron who helps in saving the girl. The initial move is to take Lilith to a children's home. The ten year old girl however begs Emily to take care of her instead of the children's home. The board agrees to give Emily custody of the girl until an apposite foster family is found. For the time being, Lilith's parents, Edward and Margaret are hospitalized in a mental institution.
"Shortly after Lilith moves into Emily's house, eccentric things start to transpire around Emily. Two weeks after that, Emily is confronted with another case in which a boy going by the name Diego all of a sudden murders his parents. What comes in as a surprise to Emily is when Detective Mike Barron informs her that the night prior to Diego murdering his parents, someone phoned the boy from Emily's house."
