This author relates the roles he has played within environmental planning and asserts that he has made significant contributions to the City of Albuquerque, and he very much wants to continue to make a difference. This author presents his belief that the University's degree program will give him the knowledge and skills he needs to lead and collaborate with others to make Albuquerque a wonderful environment for its residents and visitors. The author describes his skills and his vision for a future career in this field.

"Few professions offer the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others on a daily basis. Environmental planning and design is one of those professions. Well designed community spaces are used by people representing a wide demographic: all ages, income levels, races, ethnic groups, and abilities. Well designed spaces are enjoyed by the present generation and will hopefully leave a lasting legacy for the future."I have spent eight years with the City of Albuquerque in various roles within environmental planning. I have served as a project manager, principal project coordinator and as an estimator in park construction. The department oversees the building and renovation of city parks. I have enjoyed the roles I have held in bringing new playgrounds and workout spaces to the people of Albuquerque.
"I seek admission to the degree program leading to a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Planning and Design at the University of New Mexico. A degree will enable me to advance to the next level in my department. I envision a lifelong career in environmental planning. I hope to continue to serve the people of Albuquerque."
