The historian's Jesus is dead, whereas the faithful Christian's Jesus is alive. The mystery of the resurrection is the central motif by which Christians can ponder the living Jesus and His role in the world. Moreover, the resurrection forms the actual inception of the Christian faith, because the cult of Jesus began with the moment of the resurrection."
