Whether the normative view---through public or more scholarly debates--prevails or not, the persisting debate about it points out that media and democracy are intertwined. This paper examines the nature of interrelationship between the media and democracy in the three North American countries namely, Canada, Mexico, and United States. It aims to shed light on the normative notion of the relationship through a rather objective investigation and analysis."
