This paper is an original story, a creative writing assignment, wherein a popular Bible story is rewritten from a different point of view, in this case, the story of Jonah from the whale's point of view. The paper presents Josh, the Jewish whale, who tells his hilarious story, thereby portraying the historical story of Jonah, the prophet, in a new, interesting, and certainly funny way.

From the Paper:

"I remember it mostly because it was an exceedingly rough night swimming to and fro in search of food. The mighty wind and rain therewith rose abruptly; and, with not a hint of the coming deluge, the storm was upon me. A feeling told me not to return to the safety of the depths, that larger prey was en route. Then the splash came, a wave too big for any normal fish to make, a wave only large prey with incredible force could have originated. I still couldn't tell what it was; but I swam toward the epicenter of the wave, until, all of a sudden, the storm ceased, the winds died down, and the water cleared. I saw him. A man, not in my usual food chain; and yet the voice was telling me to go ahead and chow down because he's on the planned menu for some reason. 'Indigestion!' I though, 'And those rough textiles, oh vey, the heartburn!' Yet, who am I to doubt such an authoritative dictum? So, contrary to my own common sense, over the baleen, past the chum, look out stomachs here he comes!"
