This paper explores business ethics in terms of a social responsibility to do justice as it relates to the present, without dwelling too much on the history of industrialization and standards, by looking at what exactly the promotion of social justice is from a definitional standpoint and from a standpoint of application. Several ethical dilemmas are posed in terms of examples and a clear definition of effective promotion as it applies to both the microcosm of the business and the macrocosm of society is sought in this paper. Social justice is portrayed as a responsible, but not always financially secure, goal for corporations that strive for a tripartite balance.

"It becomes clear that the working environment or business must also function in this societal space as a greater microcosm than the individual, but a lesser one than the society. Therefore, the rules and codes of the society in terms of generalized drives towards justice must be followed by the business and the individual, in descending order of relative size, to be a reflection of the greater society of which both are a part. This society sets the ethical code, in a sense, since it is at least theoretically there to determine a positive relationship between the individual and the society through models of good behavior that does not bring harm upon others, or socially positive behavior."
