Paper Summary:
This report by the Arab American Institute (AAI) examines some of the U.S. media biases against people of Arab descent in direct response to the war in Iraq. It focuses primarily on the recent media representation of the nature of the Muslim 'threat' between January 22 and February 5, 2007. The paper considers two examples of news media - Fox News, which serves as representation of the traditionally conservative opinions which tend to be more overtly biased and outspoken against Muslims and The Washington Post which is generally more cautious in voicing anti-Muslim comments or making generalizations about Arabs and Muslims.
