This paper gives an analysis of Devon Energy and the expected gains in this stock over the next year. The dividend discount model and the capital asset pricing model are discussed as well as the growth of the company. The paper also includes a description of the company and its future plans to tap new energy sources.

"In chapter one, the narrator of the story returns to the elite Devon school campus in New Hampshire 15 years after graduation. Upon his return, the narrator is re-introduced to the fear he felt at the time (he was a student during the height of the Second World War) and he is prompted to recollect the summer of 1942 when his room-mate, Phineas or "Finny," persuaded him to jump off the branch of a tree found on the Devon campus; the tree, as it turns out, is located right beside a river and it is into the river that one must jump. Ultimately, the act of jumping into the river, and the wrestling that Finny and the narrator do afterwards, causes them to miss dinner that evening."

In the novel A Separate Peace, by John Knowles, the main characters are two teenagers, Gene and Finny. The story takes place in the 1940's at a prep school called Devon. Gene and Finny are best friends who are trying to figure each other out. A major theme of this book is life's contrasts, which is shown by contrasting characters, contrasting seasons, and good vs. evil."

This paper explains that human impact, especially that associated with increasing residential land use conversion, has reduced the original oak forest cover to the extent that the oak woodlands are at risk. The author explains that the extent of oak woods in the U.K. is estimated to be between 70,000 and 100,000 hectares, concentrated in the areas of Argyll, Devon, Cumbria, Lochaber, Gwynedd, and Cornwall. The paper relates that conservation measures are being taken to develop mixed woodlands or reversions to open moorland, to establish historic parks and open moorlands, and to use fences, thus ensuring the protection of these oak woodlands.

This paper examines some important management concepts and practices. Although these concepts are drawn from the world of commerce, they have considerable applicability within the world of medicine as well. This research provides an overview of both the private and public health care markets, focusing particularly on The Royal Devon and Exeter hospital, which is a part of the National Health Service, and the Exeter Nuffield, which is a private hospital. While there are elements of hospital administration that are, of course, unique and that cannot be derived from other areas, there are a number of management concepts that can be extrapolated from one context to another. This paper focuses on those elements of management strategy that are current in the business world that have applicability to the world of medical management as well.

"In Texas, the climate conditions and the range conditions were ideal for the raising of cattle, and perhaps this was why Texas became so very good in cattle rearing and farming. In addition, there was a liberal land system in Texas at the time, and this made it easy to acquire land, which everyone did. Soon, small acreage owners began to let their cattle graze on unoccupied lands, and others who had invested most of their money in cattle, came to depend on the open ranges for pastures. Even though some cattle were used to feed the soldiers of the Confederate Troops at that time, for the most part, the cattle were all left alone, and they grew in numbers as well as in size, and according to estimates, there were about five million longhorns at the end of the Civil War. The Longhorns in fact had long legs, and lanky bodies, that seemed to have been designed for speed, and because of the fact that for centuries these cattle had been allowed to run wild, they had developed into creatures that could withstand droughts and blizzards and other adversities with ease. In addition, they did not need much water to survive, and they had strong horizontal horns that could attack when provoked."
