Abstract
This paper summarizes, analyzes, and critiques John Corcoran's work, in which he puts the different definitions of the word "implications" into distinct, well-defined, recognizable contexts. The paper reviews Corcoran's work from the perspectives of history, logic, philosophy, and linguistics.

"In his paper, Corcoran lists several "implication" phrases in common English usage which presuppose that the premise "A" is true and that validates the conclusion B. Corcoran also critiques the philosopher/mathematician Frege in that Frege's thesis on logic is constrained by his instincts. Corcoran avers that Frege included pure logic in his thinking and did not make room for deduction as a major contributor to the concept of implication. "Frege's strategy was to show that no appeal to intuition is required for the derivation of the theorems of number theory. This in turn required that he show that the latter are derivable using only rules of inference, axioms, and definitions that are purely analytic principles of logic(Ref)" which he did not."

Abstract
The writer explores the main thesis of the book "Gathering Storm: America's Militia Threat" and provides insight as to how the authors prove that racism is growing in the United States. The writer illustrates the authors' prediction that the country is ripe for an uprising of unsurpassed violence and strength in the promotion of racism and segregation. The writer shows how the book serves as a warning for the future if steps are not taken to protect those who do not comply with the supremacist attitudes of militia groups.

Abstract
This paper analyzes the article "The Mommy Track and Partnership: Temporary Delay or Dead End?" from the perspective of a working mother. It looks at how the article, published in the "Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science", suggests sex differences may influence partnership affinity among lawyers and how the authors examine whether men are more or less likely than women to become partners in a legal firm under influence of various factors.

"The authors point out the need for greater attention in the legal profession and in other areas for attention to woman's issues including the need to take family leave to help balance the demands of family with those of their career. Like many other authors Noonan & Corcoran (2001) find that child care responsibilities are a primary reason women must make impairing career decisions. There is ample evidence supporting the fact that women leave their positions in part due to little flexibility and the log commitments required especially within the legal profession to make a career possible. These requirements often conflict with motherhood or the demands of raising a child. "

"Corcoran State Prison, part of the California prison system, has become infamous as a place where prisoners are abused, where guards used prisoners to stage fights and then bet on the outcome, where complaints by prisoners led to punishment for the prisoners but not for the guards who were committing offenses, and where finally a court delivered a major verdict against the California state prison system.
In its first decade of operation, Corcoran State Prison, touted as a state-of-the-art facility, proved to be a very dangerous place for prisoners to be placed. In that first ten years, Corcoran guards shot and killed seven inmates, and only nine months after opening, guards shot and wounded three inmates in eight weeks. These shootings were ruled justified on the claim that the intent was to protect an inmate or guard. "

Abstract
This paper introduces, discusses and analyzes the topic of Charles Manson, one of the world's most notorious murderers. Specifically, the paper discusses how the various theoretical schools of crime causation would attempt to explain Charles Manson's criminal behavior. It begins with a history of his life and criminal activity and then discusses the various criminal theories, in relation to him.

"Finally, the social learning theory may ultimately be the most useful in understanding what made Charles Manson into the deviant social being he became. This theory essentially states that crime is a learned deviant behavior, and Charlie certainly had someone to learn from - his mother. She went to prison for robbery when he was only five and the rest is history. He lived with very restrictive relatives after she want to prison, and throughout his life he desperately wanted to be with his mother, even though she made it clear she did not want him. He learned from his mother to rob and steal, and continued the pattern throughout his life. It is almost as if he was looking for her approval of him through emulating her own dysfunctional lifestyle. Charlie could have just as easily learned the strict, religious behavior of many of his relatives. That he chose to emulate the one person in his life who simply did not care for him is interesting, and it helps prove the social learning theory of criminology. He learned from his worst social influence, rather than his best social influences, and this seems to be the case with many criminals. They learn negativity early, and use these behaviors to survive for the rest of their lives."
