From the Paper:

"The American Counseling Association (ACA) and the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC) each operate based upon an infrastructure of ethics. Each organization possesses a comprehensive ethical guide, thoroughly outlines, to which all of their counselors and members adhere to. While the ACA is a strictly professional agreement to which its members are held legally accountable, the AACC is both a personal and professional proclamation of not only professional ethics, but also religious alignment. Thus, the professional code of the ACA, as exemplified, serves as an example of a modern and effective code of professional conduct, while that of the AACC is sufficient in regards to ethics, however hindered in both function and efficacy due to the religious views which are forced into not only the members' professional, but also personal behavior."
