Abstract The following paper discusses the attitudes and strategies that should be used to get the best results from employees, what it takes to keep employees motivated, the attitude of the boss and different attitudes of employees and how it affects their job. All of the latter are discussed with reference to research studies of selected companies and their organizational patterns of behaviour.
From the paper:
"It is well known by Human Resources Personnel and Managers that positive employee attitudes create positive actions toward organizational goals. Employee attitude is increasingly cited in surveys as the number one performance-related issue of companies, both large and small. As attitudes deteriorate, so do commitment, loyalty and, most importantly, performance. In this research paper we are particularly looking at physical labor jobs such as landscaping, construction, farm workers and other environments which do not take place in an office settings."
Abstract The paper looks at the issue of teenage pregnancy as it has affected and continues to affect the population of African Americans. The writer takes a look at the history of African Americans in American society and how external forces influence the number of teenage pregnancies. The paper includes an interview with a young mother, and concludes with a study of the causes and suggested solutions.
From the Paper "Melissa is a 17-year-old African American. She is a single mother with a two-year-old son. Last week, she had an abortion because she did not have the financial resources to take care of another child. According to Melissa, she ?is never lucky with men.? She asserts that she has unprotected sex with her boyfriends only when she feels that she is ?going to spend the rest of her life with them.? Yet when she gets pregnant, the relationship starts falling apart. In retrospect, she realizes that her boyfriends who are usually five to ten years older than her treat her ?like a plaything.? While they are affectionate during the relationship, the pregnancy and the prospect of a committed relationship frighten them away."
Abstract This paper explores the growing use of teams within businesses that has resulted from flatter, more dispersed, organizational structures. The paper defines the term "team", discusses the value of using teams to oversee various company projects, and looks at how the use of teams can contribute to the overall success of a company. It also looks at what is required to build an effective team, the characteristics of an effective team, and some of the conflicts and problems that teams may encounter.
From the Paper "Creating an effective team is an art and a science. Any organization is constantly changing and evolving. Change is good and the ability of an organization to adapt and be flexible in a dynamic work environment. Change is good for an organization?it helps stimulate the organization to grow (Mukherjee and Mukherjee, 2001). Building an effective team starts by selecting diverse members with a variety of complementary skills. It is important to ensure that the team for any specific task comprises members who are knowledgeable and posses the required skills needed to carry out the task."
Abstract This paper discusses the term "corporate social responsibility" and explains that it refers to the social responsibility that a company must honor towards the public. The paper contends that companies are required to be involved in human rights issues, community development, and environmental protection among other issues, in order to fulfill their social responsibility. The paper provides examples of major multinational corporations that are socially responsible.
From the Paper "The commitment and social responsibility, according to Hewlett Packard, starts initially within the company, and it is towards its own employees that the company shows its commitment and responsibility. Suppliers and partners are next in line, and all these people are legally bound to follow the rules and regulations and policies laid down by the corporation regarding labor standards, safety measures, health regulations, and, most important of all, environmental protection. They emphasize the fact that all suppliers to the company are expected by the company to follow the said rules and regulations of socially responsible behavior. The company would adapt continuous improvement and corrective measures as and when the need would arise."
Abstract Relationships are complex and can be complicated by a longing for a lasting commitment. For this reason, many have opted to simply have sex without any type of commitment (sex with no strings attached). Others hold the belief that sex is a pledge to be committed. The purpose of this discussion is to explain why sex must involve commitment.

Conclusion
From the Paper "Another reason why some believe that sex should be committal is the adverse effects of noncommittal sex. They assert that there are social, physical and emotional ramifications to noncommittal sex.(Mathewes-Green) The social ramifications have to do with the stigma that is attached to people (mainly women) that engage in noncommittal and or promiscuous sexual acts. In addition, noncommittal sex can lead to unwanted pregnancies, which increase the number of individuals that are dependent upon the welfare system. (Mathewes-Green) Unwanted pregnancies also increase the number of abortions that are performed and the overall being of our society is jeopardized when unwanted children are born to mothers that are immature and not ready to parent. Abstract This paper addresses the problem of sleep deprivation in high school students. The paper uses different studies conducted on high school students and studies of why schools should have later opening times in order to examine the issue of what happens when high school students don't receive sufficient hours of sleep. The paper looks at whether sleep-deprived students actually recall what they learned in school and explains some of the effects that not getting enough sleep have on the brain and the physical body.
From the Paper "This is a very important issue for many reasons, perhaps primarily being that this is a problem that needs to be recognized and corrected, because teenagers may develop sleep disorders later if they are forced by too many commitments into getting not enough sleep. It is also an important issue to bring to the attention of the school district and administrators as well as others involved in the planning process of school functions, because opening school on just a slightly-adjusted time schedule could have definite results in improving academic outcomes. Generally the educational establishment, aside from some test cases that will be mentioned in this report, has tended to view the teenager who doesn't get enough sleep as someone caught sleeping in class: they are to be punished rather than looking at the larger problem. Many students unfortunately have complicated and over committed lives in which they only have a small window to do homework."
Abstract This paper compares the philosophies of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X as civil rights activists. It looks at the differences in their methods, King's belief in civil disobedience and nonviolence and Malcolm X's belief in the use of aggressive action violence. It also looks at the committment of both to social change and considers the challenges that current civil rights leaders face.

Abstract This paper explores the issue of gay marriage considered in terms of natural law. The author cites various sources showing that marriage is a man-made institution and therefore a personal choice. It is further argued that natural law helps guide people to the good, and what is right for them. The paper concludes that there is no harm in allowing gays to marry one another, as most of them just want to live and enjoy their lives and families, just like everyone else.
From the Paper "Allowing gays to marry or not allowing them to marry is a social issue that is definitely one of the most relevant of any social issue with people today. Despite those who seem strongly opposed to gay marriage 52 percent of voters that were polled by CBS indicated that they would actually consider voting for a presidential candidate that they liked even if he did not share their specific views on gay marriage (Poll, 2004). Those who are opposed to gay marriage are less willing to vote in this way than those who believe in gay marriages (Poll, 2004). "
