Abstract The following paper discusses the attitudes and strategies that should be used to get the best results from employees, what it takes to keep employees motivated, the attitude of the boss and different attitudes of employees and how it affects their job. All of the latter are discussed with reference to research studies of selected companies and their organizational patterns of behaviour.

Abstract The paper looks at the issue of teenage pregnancy as it has affected and continues to affect the population of African Americans. The writer takes a look at the history of African Americans in American society and how external forces influence the number of teenage pregnancies. The paper includes an interview with a young mother, and concludes with a study of the causes and suggested solutions.

Last week, she had an abortion because she did not have the financial resources to take care of another child. According to Melissa, she ?is never lucky with men.? She asserts that she has unprotected sex with her boyfriends only when she feels that she is ?going to spend the rest of her life with them.? Yet when she gets pregnant, the relationship starts falling apart. In retrospect, she realizes that her boyfriends who are usually five to ten years older than her treat her ?like a plaything.? While they are affectionate during the relationship, the pregnancy and the prospect of a committed relationship frighten them away."
Abstract This paper explores the growing use of teams within businesses that has resulted from flatter, more dispersed, organizational structures. The paper defines the term "team", discusses the value of using teams to oversee various company projects, and looks at how the use of teams can contribute to the overall success of a company. It also looks at what is required to build an effective team, the characteristics of an effective team, and some of the conflicts and problems that teams may encounter.

The paper contends that companies are required to be involved in human rights issues, community development, and environmental protection among other issues, in order to fulfill their social responsibility. The paper provides examples of major multinational corporations that are socially responsible.

Abstract Relationships are complex and can be complicated by a longing for a lasting commitment. For this reason, many have opted to simply have sex without any type of commitment (sex with no strings attached). Others hold the belief that sex is a pledge to be committed. They assert that there are social, physical and emotional ramifications to noncommittal sex.(Mathewes-Green) The social ramifications have to do with the stigma that is attached to people (mainly women) that engage in noncommittal and or promiscuous sexual acts. In addition, noncommittal sex can lead to unwanted pregnancies, which increase the number of individuals that are dependent upon the welfare system. Abstract This paper addresses the problem of sleep deprivation in high school students. The paper uses different studies conducted on high school students and studies of why schools should have later opening times in order to examine the issue of what happens when high school students don't receive sufficient hours of sleep. The paper looks at whether sleep-deprived students actually recall what they learned in school and explains some of the effects that not getting enough sleep have on the brain and the physical body.

Abstract This paper compares the philosophies of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X as civil rights activists. It looks at the differences in their methods, King's belief in civil disobedience and nonviolence and Malcolm X's belief in the use of aggressive action violence. It also looks at the committment of both to social change and considers the challenges that current civil rights leaders face.

Abstract This paper explores the issue of gay marriage considered in terms of natural law. The author cites various sources showing that marriage is a man-made institution and therefore a personal choice. It is further argued that natural law helps guide people to the good, and what is right for them. The paper concludes that there is no harm in allowing gays to marry one another, as most of them just want to live and enjoy their lives and families, just like everyone else.
