Abstract
The paper discusses the low self-esteem of abusers, their controlling behavior and their need to insult and break down the self-esteem of their victims. The paper also points out that the abuser is quick to anger at home, has poor communication skills and is a good liar and manipulator, but will likely be able to mask his abusive side while out in the social world. The paper notes that abusers fear being abandoned by their family or loved ones and go to great lengths to make sure their victims are too scared to leave. Finally, the paper addresses the most common characteristic of all abusers, that is, substance abuse.
From the Paper
"Abuse can come in many different forms and can cause major physical and mental health consequences to the victims. The abuse is not the fault of the victim but the fault of the characteristics of the abusers. Abuse can be physical, sexual, emotional or verbal as well as involving neglect. Abusers want power and control over their victims and will go to any means to ensure this happens. Physical abuse and sexual abuse consists of the abuser inserting their control over their victims using violence and force while emotional and verbal abuse involves the abuser using hateful words and continued insults.
"Statistics show that 92% of all abusers are men while the other 8% consists of women that are mainly abusers of their children (Victoria, 2006). There are many theories as to way or what characteristics cause the abuser to abuse. One common characteristic of the abuser is low self-esteem. Even though the abuser may display and outer appearance of confidence in truth they have low self-esteem and as a result they become hyper-macho to prove their masculinity to the world. Another common characteristic is controlling behavior. Due to low self-esteem and other insecurities the abuser must control everyone and everything around them."

The paper offers a synthesis of the main findings on the leadership related to past and current trends in leadership literature and the characteristics of leadership and the relationship between power and leadership.
Outline:
Introduction
Inclusion and Exclusion Criteria
Section 1: Overview of Leadership
Section 2: Characteristics of Leadership
Section 3: Power and Leadership
Summary and Conclusion
From the Paper
"To define leadership, we first have to understand that leadership is relative i.e. everyone has a different approach to define what is good leadership. There are some who try to differentiate between the tasks and approaches of an individual in terms of being a good leader or a good manager. There are others who concentrate on the necessary characteristics of an individual that make him/her a leader like intellect, risk taking ability, determination, creativity, etc. There are many others who are more focused on the different elements of leadership and believe that these elements are far more important for any researcher to catalog if they are analyzing the dynamics and aspects of leadership especially within academic institutions."

Abstract
The paper compares and contrasts the various Anglo-Saxon characteristics in "Beowulf" and shows how they are critical to both the plot and the setting of Seamus Heaney's version of this epic. The paper reviews and analyzes traditional characteristics including the quest for fame, manliness and courage as well as the non-traditional characteristics of generosity and concern for others.
From the Paper
"In Seamus Heaney's translation of Beowulf, many themes and motifs exist, including predominantly the values of the Anglo-Saxon culture. The theme of manliness and strength known to the Anglo-Saxon tradition and important to the development and characteristics of Beowulf can be identified in all three agons of the epic. However, Beowulf also presents non-traditional aspects opposite of the typical Anglo-Saxon warrior, weaving an intricate text to enliven the story. These two contrasting forces combine to create a poem that highlights the inextinguishable spirit of mankind as well as underlines the values of morality."

Abstract
In this article, the writer notes that the classrooms of today are filled with students of diverse cultures, socioeconomic status, race and ethnicity, and learning and physical ability. The writer discusses that the topic of bullying has emerged in the past few years as an issue of growing concern among students, parents, and school administrators alike. The writer explains that bullying can best be defined as repeated oppression, physical or psychological, of a less powerful person by a more powerful person or group. This paper examines bullying in terms of gender differences, both "bully" and "victim" characteristics, and the causes and consequences of bullying for all those involved. The writer concludes that the problems associated with bullying must not become accepted in the educational system, and remain an obstacle to fostering human learning and development.
Outline:
Introduction
Gender Differences
Characteristics of Bullies
Characteristics of Victims
Consequences of Bullying
Conclusion
From the Paper
"The various types and methods of bullying also vary with boys and girls. Research by Chu indicates that boys are the primary bullies and victims on the streets, playgrounds and schools, whereas girls are the primary bullies and victims of bullying performed online. According to Chu, nearly one third of the eighth grade girls surveyed reported being bullied online in the previous two months. This is comparable to the 10% of boys bullied online. The reason for the difference between the gender in bullying online is that online, an individual's identity can be hidden, and girls may feel more comfortable being the bully if no one knows their real identity. Rigby indicates that girls are usually more empathetic than boys, both in recognizing the emotion someone else is having, and in feeling that same emotion themselves. Furthermore, research indicates that girls are generally more empathetic than boys toward the victims of aggression. Thus, gender does account for the differences between bullying."

Abstract
This paper provides a discussion of five characteristics that define a culture, before addressing three characteristics of Chinese culture and how they are being challenging by the spread of globalization and China's rapidly expanding economy.
From the Paper
"There are many characteristics of culture. From the cuisine people eat and the manner in which they dress, to language, religious beliefs and gender relations, each culture develops its own perspective of such characteristics as they are expressed in the social interaction of individuals. For instance, conservative Muslim women are fully covered in public and are often escorted by a male relative as a show of modesty. American women are much freer to dress in public as they see fit. Culture is learned so..."

From the Paper
"Initial research on felony drug offenders appears to heavily focus on race sentencing disparities concerning incarceration periods. However, one might effectively argue ordering an individual to complete substance abuse treatment is a benefit of the sentence. This study is more interested in characteristics other than race. It is possible the present study may find a similar relationship to offenders ordered to complete substance abuse treatment as relationships observed in sentencing outcomes."

Abstract
This essay shows the differences of the characteristics between a growing and a maturing market, with an analysis of different cost recoveries in both periods. The paper shows that despite the differences, market growth and market maturity are periods which cannot be completely separated as market growth slowly develops into market maturity.
From the Paper
"As already pointed out, market growth is accompanied by market fragmentation which causes competition. But competition in market growth is not as intense as it is in market maturity. The reason is that in the growth phase, almost every organization profits just because of the great demand, whereas in maturity, organizations struggle for their survival. Thus, the price of the product in market growth is not the decisive factor in competition. Marketing and product improvement, i.e. technology are the most significant factors. Consequently, products can be sold at relatively high prices because of the great demand."

Abstract
The paper examines the God of the Old Testament who displays many human images and emotions. The paper reminds us that that Bible was written by man who wrote of God in the only manner he could in human terms. The paper defines several of Gods characteristics (for example, creativity, protectiveness, vengefulness, and grieving) and shows how they relate to instances in the Bible.
From the Paper
"The Lord is a vengeful Lord. He removed Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden. He destroyed man and beast because of their evil ways (Genesis 6:13). When the Pharaoh would not let the Israelites free, Moses spoke with him, pleaded. Moses warned him that God would take vengeance on the Egyptian. First the river turned to blood (Exodus 7:17). Then the frogs came (Exodus 8:5). When the Pharaoh still did not let the Israelites go, God turned the dust and smite into lice (Exodus 8:16), After the lice, came the flies that swarmed amongst the houses of the Egyptians (Exodus 8:21). The Pharaoh still would not let God's people go. Th's angered God even more and he sent down a disease that killed the cattle of the Egyptians. The cattle of the Israelites were saved. Then the Lord commanded Moses to take the ashes from the furnace and sprinkling it towards the heavens, it was changed into a boil that only affected the Egyptians. These boils affected both man and beast (Exodus 9:10)."
