Abstract
This paper discusses the advantages of Google Base and Windows Live Expo and explains why the student likes each.
From the Paper
"The advantages of Google Base and Windows Live Expo are fairly significant. Google Base for example allows merchants to prepare their product feeds for multiple shopping engines each with their own formats and standards. In other words, if they are using other shopping engines they can still submit information to Google ProductSearch using existing data feeds they've prepared for other shopping engines. Users simply register the data feed in their account using a drop-down list of feed formats..."

Abstract
The paper explains that although the safe, efficient and legal operation of airports is the responsibility of the airport management, many of the individual services are provided by other organizations such as fixed base operators. The paper analyzes the specific type of services that these organizations provide, the range of employment opportunities offered by them and what changes have taken place, particularly following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. The paper concludes that fixed base operators represent an important component in the nation's aviation industry, employment opportunities at fixed base operators are good and the salary ranges offered by these organizations are competitive.
Outline:
Review and Discussion
Types of Services Provided
Changes in Fixed Based Operators and Future Trends
Employment Opportunities
Conclusion
From the Paper
"In the United States, a number of organizations play an important role in keeping aircraft well maintained and in training civilian pilots, including fixed base operators. According to Andrews and O'Neil (2000), "Fixed base operators provide a variety of services at civilian airports including charter flights, line service (refueling), maintenance, aircraft rental, aircraft storage, and flight training" (p. 17). There have been trends and legislation that have affected the way these organizations operate over the years, though, and these issues are discussed further below."

Abstract
In this article, the writer discusses the structure of the family in relation to the family power base. The writer notes that in homes where there are two parents and young children, the power base is generally decided upon gender, with the male making most of the family's primary decisions. The writer also discusses that the power base can alter in accordance to changes in circumstances and the family structure.
From the Paper
"In a home in which there is only one parent, that parent, regardless of gender is usually the power base within the family. Yet, as children age, grandparents move into the home, children attend college or the socioeconomic status of the family shifts, the power base may also change, making the individual with the most seniority, financial flow and wisdom the central power force in the home."

Abstract
This paper examines how knowledge management is one of the hottest subjects in management studies due to the changing paradigm of management as we enter the 21st century. It attempts to show that it is possible for an organisation to develop a knowledge base, which is more than the sum of its individual employees? knowledge. It reviews the guidance given by the management literature and considers some of the important points. It also looks at some companies that have been successful in their implementation of a knowledge management system.
Outline
Introduction
Knowledge Management
Knowledge Creation
Learning Organisation
Obstacles to Creating a Knowledge Base
Knowledge Sharing
Characteristics of an Effective KM System
Knowledge Management ? 2 Different Opinions
Success Stories
Conclusions
From the Paper
"KPMG recently surveyed over 400 organisations in the UK, mainland Europe and the US and found "81% had or were considering a knowledge management program, 79% believed that knowledge management can play an "extremely significant" or "significant" role in improving competitive advantage". (KPGM Knowledge management Research Report) Similarly, a survey by PriceWaterhouseCoopers showed that 97 % of senior executives believe that "knowledge management is a critical issue for them". A more telling survey conducted by Tacit was that of individuals working at the interface between creating/using knowledge. In a survey of professional, managerial, and technical knowledge workers Tacit investigated employees opinion on how their employers handled knowledge sharing. The findings of the Tacit survey illustrate a serious problem, valuable knowledge is available &/or created within the organisation, but is not utilised efficiently."

Abstract
This paper describes a chemistry experiment on acid-base reactions and calculates the ka, kb, pka and pkb from the pH determinations. The paper explains that the experiment involves measuring the pH of solutions of vinegar (acetic acid), seltzer water (carbonic acid) and ammonia.
From the Paper
"This laboratory is concerned with the determination of the pka and pkb of weak acids and bases. Most of the acid or base of weak acids or bases exists in the molecular form in solution with little ionization. There are standard formulas for calculation..."

Abstract
This paper explains the wireless local area network in the Oahu Base Area Network, its subsystems, its different modes of operations, implementation, and application for the United States Navy. The paper also explains the use of smart cards and how they will serve the Navy.
From the Paper
"The wireless local area network (WLAN) in the Oahu Base Area Network is made up of several different subsystems. The inputs to the system will be desktop computers, laptop computers, and embedded systems (fixed and mobile). Each client has a wireless network card that can communicate with an access point (AP). The AP manages WLAN traffic and physically connects the wireless system to the wired local area network (LAN). The wired LAN will then send the requested information back to the access points, which will relay it to the appropriate client (Conover, 2000)."

Abstract
This paper examines how the North export base thesis is an attempt to explain rapid U.S. economic growth, by examining the importance of raw material exports, mostly cotton to Europe. It looks how it presents a valid and to a large extent validated explanation to how and why the U.S. economy enlarged and diversified between 1790 and 1860.
From the Paper
"According to North's thesis the importance of cotton exports as the basis for US economic growth is unparalleled. Cotton prices began to rise in 1812; by 1815 they were in excess of 20 cents a pound in New York. The continued growing demand of the English textile industry in Lancashire was not matched by an equal expansion in supply, therefore increasing the price of cotton. Prices reached a peak of 29 cents a pound in 1816 and remained high until 1818. The extensive waterways of the South allowed for a vast expansion of cotton growing land, not far removed from its only cheap method of transportation. The beginning of steam boats on the Mississippi (1816) further reduced transportation costs and prompted further investment in the cotton growing plantations of the South."

Abstract
In this article, the writer explains that a database is a program allowing the user to collect and organize information, and the home user might use this system for a number of purposes, from keeping track of any collection (such as books, videos, magazine articles, lists of any sort, and so on). The writer then looks at the Microsoft Access data base.
From the Paper
"A database also allows the user to search through the data collected on the basis of one or more search terms and one or more types of information. This makes the database program especially powerful for organizing data and for finding a specific item on the list. Databases can also be used for such tasks as counting items or adding together a set of figures, as when a small business uses a database to keep track of sales and has a column for payments made, a ..."

From the Paper
"M1 includes currency "coinage and bank notes. Coinage is a very small part of M1" about 2 - 3 %. It's important to mention that coinage that is in a circulation in the U.S. now is a "symbolic money." It means that the real value of the coin (the value of material it is made of) is lower than the value marked on the coin. It was done to prevent the remelting of coins in order to sell them as a metal ingots. Bank notes are more important and take about 25% of M1. All the bank notes were issued by Federal Reserve bank with the permission of the U.S. Congress. You can see a Federal Reserve bank sign on every bank note. Demand deposits became widespread nowadays because it is safe and useful. If you need to pay a great sum of money you don't have to take them all with you. All you need is draw a check. That's much easier. The loss of check-book is not as tragical as the loss of equal sum of money. Nobody can use check if it is not endorsed. That's why deposits became so popular. It might sounds strange that checkable deposits are part of M1, but it's easy to explain. People use checks as a medium of circulation. Besides such deposits and checks can be turned into a cash money. M1 has the characteristic of being highly liquid, where liquidity is the term that describes the ease of converting an asset into money. "
