Abstract This paper relates that Jon Holtzman's book "Nuer Journeys, Nuer Lives: Sudanese Refugees in Minnesota" is an ethnographic analysis of a small group of refugees from Sudan called the Nuer. The author of this paper compares their struggles with his own struggles.
