Wealth is much more than money. It is power. American political power is directly related to wealth. Our national economy is controlled by a metaphorical single company called "big business", which comprises the Fortune 500 companies. As wealth is the center of power, it seems that only a redistribution of wealth will alleviate the vast inequities of power and influence within our society. With an equality of wealth, equality of influence is assured. It becomes increasingly clear that one major step towards assuring equity among our people is to redistribute the wealth.
