From the Paper:

"There are six primary means of measuring the ethical climate within a workplace. The first of these is the existence of ethics policies, which of course determine whether or not the organization actually seeks to maintain an ethical environment. Starbucks undoubtedly has these in place, as is quite clear through the many initiatives the company has taken in regards to both ethical treatment of their employees as well as ethical sourcing. This is enforced by the next component, that of "sanctions and rewards", which are the mechanisms through which the ethical policies are reinforced."
