Abstract This paper explains that, with all the different models and their variations, it is important for a company to select one or a combination of models best suited to the organizational business plan. The author points out that the brokerage model, which brings buyers and sellers together, includes online auctions, such as eBay.com, and search agents that search the Internet for requested pricing or products, such as Indeed.com. The paper relates that the merchant model is used by Lands' End and Apple iTunes music store. The author explains that the affiliate model offers various purchase opportunities wherever people may be surfing by offering financial incentives to the site owner. The paper explains that the online shopping mall Amazon.com, which uses a combination e-marketing model, provides buyers with a "one stop shopping" experience, by handling the entire transaction from selection, payment to fulfillment and shipping for its virtual merchants such as Target and Weight Watchers.

Abstract This paper discusses the characteristics of partner violence and some of the different factors that can lead to partner violence. It also looks at the characteristics of cultures where partner violence is extremely low. The paper also briefly discusses how addiction and depression can cause partner violence, and why other stressors can lead to violence, as well as why is there not more support and treatment for these violent partners.
From the Paper "There are several characteristics of partner violence, and several different factors can lead to partner violence. Usually (but not always), women are the victims of partner violence, and women between the ages of 16 and 24 are the largest age group involved in partner violence. Only about half the violence is reported to police, and black women are more prone to report violence. Nearly half the abused women have children less than twelve years of age. When the violence results in murder, three out of four of the victims are women, and about half of partner violence victims report a physical injury (Rennison and Welchans, 2000, p. 1). In addition, one or more of the partners may suffer from addiction of some kind, and one or both partners could have suffered abuse as a child. The abuser may also suffer from depression."

From the Paper "This proposal defines the project plans for creating a comprehensive partner relationship management (PRM) system for managing the relationships of both channel partners and large commercial accounts for a landscaping services and manufacturing organization. For purposes of this example, Toro Manufacturing Company, which relies on professional services and products for 67% of its revenue and 31% from residential, is heavily dependent on its channel partners and direct commercial accounts for the majority of its revenue (El Toro, 2007). The need for a PRM system to attract, sell and serve these indirect channel partners is critical for Toro's growth in the professional marketplace, in addition to greater market share gains in the residential market as well. Conclusions and Recommendations
From the Paper "In conclusion PHC has developed and implemented a successful human-computer system that appears to be achieving its goals. I strongly recommend that PHC initially focus its efforts on securing its data repository which is its greatest asset. The knowledge accumulated from the experienced medical staff and placed in the knowledge base ensures that even if the staff should leave the organisation, the knowledge will be retained. Medical information regarding patients facilitates their treatment. By studying and internalising the points made in this report regarding privacy issues, data security and cultural issues inherent in operating a heterogeneous system combining humans with computerised resources, PHC should be able to leverage its position as a leading healthcare provider in the New England area."

Abstract In this article the writer presents an examination of the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and looks at how it relates to homosexual couples. The writer explores various companies that provide benefits for domestic partners as well as state statutes that mandate such policies. The writer claims how unfair it is that benefits are not federally mandated for the FMLA when it comes to domestic partner relationships. The writer points out that children are being adopted every day by gay couples and those parents are being deprived of spending the first few months at home bonding with that child. The writer maintains that a negative impact on the workforce is produced by the lack of federal mandate for FMLA with domestic partnerships. The writer concludes the essay with a personal point of view.
From the Paper "In today's society many couples are non traditional. They are fully committed to each other and their life together but for various reasons are not married. Same sex couples are not allowed to be married and many heterosexual couples don't believe the government should force them to have a formal ceremony to commit to each other.
The FMLA leaves those couples out in the cold. Recently companies across the nation have taken a close look at the impact refusing domestic partner benefits has on the morale of their workforce and have decided to implement benefits on their own. In addition some states have made the move to mandate coverage for domestic partners through their jobs."
Abstract A review of an article in the Fall 1999 Management Accounting Quarterly (written by Rusell et al), infers that the changing role of the accountant includes all forms of accounting professionals. The paper shows that not only do management accountants analyze financial information, review tax and other regulatory issues and execute much of the traditional accountant duties, but they are now migrating to be included in executive teams involved in strategic planning issues. The paper shows that accountants are involved in corporate technology and new product developments. In other words, they are now accountants with supplementary management. The paper makes use of charts.

From the Paper "Reinvention on a grand scale appears to be the order of the day. Failure to provide today's Management Accountant with the tools it needs tomorrow just adds risk of the profession becoming a marginal discipline (i.e., deskilled, decentralized and disappearing (Parker 7)). Therefore, the need is great for a partnering of sorts in which to provide the reinvented Management Accountant with a broader knowledge base that includes areas such as operations, product and process technology, systems, marketing and strategic management. The focus must be switched from historical accounting stewardship to strategic planning. For the traditional Management Accountant, this will be like putting on a new pair of shoes; and for those that challenge change, the shoes may be a little tight."
Abstract This six-page undergraduate paper studies the problem of violent offenses against a current or former intimate partner. The studies conducted by various researchers concluded that the rate of this type of crime is higher against women than men but while there has been a decline in the cases against females since 1976, the violence against males has increased.
Abstract Do males assign greater weight than females to physical beauty in selecting romantic partners? This has been a question in our civilization since the beginning of mankind, and just happens to be the hypothesis at hand. Most people believe that males who "go out on the prowl" look for women who are highly attractive and do not pay any attention to their job status, personality, or intelligence. On the other hand, females are stereotyped to look for males with a good career and personality before factors such as physical traits comes into play. To determine the truth about this phenomenon, the writer of this paper designed a survey on the subject.
From the Paper "The problem researched as stated above was, do males tend to pick female partners because of their looks and nothing else? Also, do females tend to assign greater weight to job status, personality and success when choosing a partner? This is a common dilemma faced by everybody who is looking for "that special someone" in their life, or even just a one night stand. While researching an interesting article by Dugatkin and Godin, it was found that it disagreed with our hypothesis. The article states that females tend to be the "choosier sex" when it comes to selecting a mate (Dugatkin & Godin, pg. 1). This article says that females look for males with more "flashy and fearless" characteristics when choosing a mate, rather than job status and wealth. The study of mate selection has been discussed by scientists for many years. In fact, Charles Darwin was the first to propose that competition for mates plays an important role in reproductive success, a process he dubbed sexual selection (Dugatkin & Godin, pg. 1). Personally, this article made me second-guess whether or not our hypothesis would be true, but our survey would eventually determine the validity of the hypothesis at hand."
An in-depth look at the issue of obesity and weight loss, and the effect that it has on an individual's self image and on the individual's partner or spouse.
Abstract This paper aims to gain a better understanding of the experience of obesity, weight loss and its treatment from the perspectives of the formerly obese individual and his or her partner and their experience as a couple. To this end, this study describes the participants' experienced meanings as opposed to describing overt actions or behaviors.

From the Paper "Participation in at least a self-prescribed weight loss program was required of the participants. A specific weight loss program or treatment modality was not part of the neither inclusion nor exclusion criteria. Little emphasis on treatment is in the literature review. The NHLBI algorithm for using BMI to evaluate and establish guidelines for treatment of adult obesity is provided at the appendix. Children and adolescents stories replete with childhood experiences and a significant percentage of obese children remain obese as adults. In fact, this generation may be the first where parents routinely outlive their children. "
Abstract This paper discusses party affiliation and how it influences how the government in the United States operates. It also discusses other important influences that exist. The paper then discusses the reasons for the difficulty that exists for a new party to gain power in government because of the two party system that currently exists.
Table of Contents:
Party Affiliation Difficulty in Adding a New Party
From the Paper "There are also some institutional factors, which limit the influence of party affiliation by members of Congress. The President and other party leaders may assist Congressmen in their election, but ultimately members are responsible to their constituents first. They may follow an ideological group or a bi-partisan coalition on an issue if it is what their voters want.
"In recent years there has been a growth in earmarks, the funding of specific projects often targeted to a specific Congressman's district. If distributed by the party these can increase discipline and be used as a way of rewarding loyalty. Also a popular president or former president might campaign on behalf of party loyalists, helping out at re-election time."
Abstract The paper examines the actual impact of church membership and religious affiliation upon partisanship of those church members and religious adherents. The paper looks at research on religion in the Latino community and amongst African-American women and refers to two Pew Research Center reports. The paper concludes that religious affiliation has historically and traditionally affected the resultant voting choices of individuals in the United States, but there has been a growing trend to judge candidates more individually than from just the party view of that candidate when it comes to a choice in the voting process.

Summary and Conclusion
From the Paper "The work of Kelly and Kelly (2005) entitled: "Religion and Latino Partisanship in the United States" reports a research study in the Latino community, which has until now been little studies in relation to religious affiliation and the effect of that affiliation on the partisanship of the community. This study utilized data from the 1990-2000 National Election Studies in examining both the religious affiliation and the level of religious commitment among Latinos and focused on the effects of these statistics on the political affiliation of the Latino group. Findings in this study include that the classification of Latinos into two groupings of either being Catholic or non-Catholic is a faulty classification and additionally findings are stated that religious significantly influences Latino partisanship."
This paper looks at the current trends in human resources and assesses what organizational strategies within human resources are needed to maintain a competitive and successful business market.
Abstract This paper discusses the role of human resources, stating that more recently it has been regarded as a business strategic partner for many organizations. In order to be successful and remain competitive in today's market, human resources (HR) must be considered a strategic partner if an organization wants to flourish. This paper makes a case for having human resources (HR) report to the CEO of the organization. The author describes the relationship between HR strategies and business strategies and discusses examples of HR strategies that can be effective. In addition, the author of the paper examines the benefits and consequences of having HR as a strategic partner, as well as the key business competencies that they must retain. Furthermore, the paper discusses an optimal career path for a senior HR executive.
Outline:

Conclusion
From the Paper "Strategies require more than retaining competent people. They require specific people with specific talents for specific tasks. Concentration strategies are a good example of how HR can affect change. They are an integral part in retaining employees by way if training to keep skills sharp and compensation to give those with skills the proper income for their work. Another strategy that can impact change in a positive direction is the external growth strategy during mergers and acquisitions. HR is a critical facet during a merger as issues of conflict usually arise. HR must train staff in conflict resolution due to the merging cultures. In doing so, morale and production can be impacted if the proper training is conducted. Additionally, rightsizing to cut costs and remain competitive in the market is another strategy whereby HR is important and can positively affect the company in meeting its goals. HR can assess the positions and the job functions to see what positions can merge. Upon doing so, they then can look objectively at the employees who aren't as valued to determine the cuts needed to achieve the desired results."
