ebXML
An overview of the global electronic business standard, ebXML (electronic business using Extensible Markup language).
1,594 words (approx. 6.4 pages) | 7 sources | MLA | 2007 United States

Paper Summary:

Electronic business using Extensible Markup Language (ebXML) is a modular suite of specifications that would effectively enable an enterprise of any size, and anywhere in the world, to conduct business over the medium of the Internet. The paper shows that today, more and more companies have started to use the ebXML to exchange business messages with each other, regardless of the distance between one point to another. The paper also shows how it is used to conduct trading and other forms of business relationships with each other, to communicate relevant data in common terms, and to define and register various business processes.

From the Paper:

"Therefore, it must be noted that ebXML is nothing but a set of specifications that would enable the transaction of a business on the World Wide Web and the Internet, and the mission and vision of the system is to enable more and more number of people to practice business on the Internet, no matter where they are, and no matter what the size of the business may be. Perhaps the entire world would soon become a global marketplace, what with the exchange of ebXML based messages which would enable better business transactions. ebXML also hopes to succeed in 'Electronic Data Exchange', also known as EDE officially."
