The Legalization of Immigrants

# 90298
The Legalization of Immigrants
This paper discusses the debate about illegal immigrants in the United States.
2,700 words (approx. 10.8 pages) | 11 sources | 2006 United States

Paper Summary:

The paper explains how few issues have proved as divisive in recent years as the ongoing debate about what America should do with its troubling influx of illegal immigrants. On one hand, many Americans are firmly of the view that the United States should arrest and imprison those who cross this nation's borders illegally. On the other hand, the paper shows how many Americans (although it appears to be a somewhat smaller number) cleave to the view that arrest and detention is both impractical and unjust, given as many illegal "guests" serve the United States economy in a host of ways that many not always be readily understandable to the casual onlooker.
