"The Book of Revelations"
An analysis of the themes, symbolism and metaphors in "The Book of Revelations".
3,127 words (approx. 12.5 pages) | 6 sources | MLA | 2006 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper contends that "The Book of Revelations" can be considered a work of literature and that it reads like a work of highly- imaginative fiction filled with weird and frightening symbols which are meant to convert the unbeliever into a faithful follower of Christianity. The paper also discusses how 'The Book of Revelations" was obviously written with extreme subjectivity with themes and symbols based on human experience and interpretation.

From the Paper:

"Of all the important themes found in the Book of Revelations, that of evil is the most prominent. In Chapter 12, the reader is introduced to the devil who is described as an enormous red dragon with seven heads, ten horns and seven crowns on his head. As a personality, the devil comes under numerous titles, such as an ancient serpent responsible for tempting Eve to taste of the apple in the Garden of Eden which led to Adam and Eve's expulsion from the garden, and Satan, or the adversary of God and the accuser of all God's people, an attempt to discredit all those that believe in God and Jesus Christ."
