Tenets of the Holy Koran
An explanation of the tenets of Islam.
1,712 words (approx. 6.8 pages) | 3 sources | APA | 2008 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper describes and explains the beliefs and tenets of Islam, focusing on tenets regarding women, Jihad, charity, diet, justice, and principles of faith. The paper relates that Qura is considered sacred by all practicing Muslims and would not exist if it were not for the existence of the Holy Scriptures and the Jewish Talmud, which came before the time of Muhammad and his conversion by Allah.

From the Paper:

"As the third of the major Semitic monotheistic religion along with Judaism and Christianity, Islam is of Middle Eastern origin and pertains to the belief in and worship of only one God, in this case Allah, who is believed to be personal, righteous, and above all holy. Those who follow the beliefs and tenets of Islam are known as Muslims or those who submit to the will of Allah, much like submitting to the will of Jesus Christ in Christianity. For Muslims, the sacred scripture of Islam is known as the Koran or Holy Quran which was originally written in Arabic and must be recited on a daily basis by all Muslims regardless of the geographical or cultural setting."
