Social Responsibility
An analysis of the issues surrounding social responsibility in a corporation such as Costlo.
1,171 words (approx. 4.7 pages) | 5 sources | MLA | 2007 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper discusses the social responsibility of Costlo. It specifically discusses Costlo's problem while subscribing to stakeholder theory, which suggests that a firm is not only responsible for the well being of stockholders but also needs to take into consideration the interests of all stakeholders. The paper concludes that Costlo does not need to withdraw the benefits that it pays to its employees, but must instead find another alternative for resolving its revenue problem.

From the Paper:

"Costlo needs to first identify the actual causes of decline in revenues. To blame employees' increased benefits for this problem would only oversimplify a problem that may have deeper causes and thus far reaching implications. In order to solve the problem effectively and with long term benefits in mind, the firm needs to identify the real causes of decline. This can be done by tallying volumes of sale with competitors, by actual revenues earned in comparative period, and by finding out the costs incurred on various business operations. This will help the firm target the origin of the problem and they can then decide the next course of action."
