From the Paper:
"My Mother suddenly passed during the summer of 2004. I was nineteen years old. I am an only child and my Father was not around. I was responsible for funeral planning and everything that accompanies the passing of a loved one. It was a difficult time and I was grief stricken. It was during this time that I did not sleep for one week. The grief exhausted my body but I was unable to rest. I would go to bed and my mind would race. My mind would not let me relax, as I was under so much pressure to make my Mother's death arrangements alone.
"My mood was already poor due to obvious reasons. I was depressed. However, as time progressed and I didn't sleep, I became edgy. The smallest things were irritating. Sounds seemed amplified and annoying. I remember the light of day vividly. The sun hurt my eyes. It was as if I had never been in the sun before. It became nauseating. I can clearly remember that walking felt like a chore. My limbs felt heavy and uneasy. Moving around became a clumsy task. My motor skills weakened and I was unable to stay steady. My body started showing physical signs of fatigue. My skin became pale and circles appeared under my eyes. My behavior was abnormal. I was operating on barely any fuel. It was hard to think soundly. As time went on, it became difficult to articulate my sentences. Thinking became a difficult process."
