Paper Summary:

This paper considers the advantages of six sigma for a company and using the ISO 9000 model for implementing a Six Sigma approach. It further describes Six Sigma and the commitment necessary for its success.

From the Paper:

"Six Sigma is an aggressive approach to reducing product defects to a negligible-or even nonexistent-level. It gained notoriety when Jack Welch implemented it company-wide at General Electric and the company sustained strong growth following this initiative. It is not enough, however, for a company to commit to Six Sigma. The implementation of the program can be the deciding factor in whether the initiative succeeds or fails. Managing change is never easy and implementing change of the magnitude of six sigma can be even more difficult..."
