"Addressing how a domineering military style of leadership can transition into servant leadership requires identifying and analyzing what changes in approach to leadership and relationships are needed in order to make the more traditional domineering leader a more effective servant leader. Studying and researching this issue confirms that these changes must begin with an aspiration to lead, a rejection of leader-first motivations such as seeking power simply for the sake of power, and a commitment to ensuring that the highest priority needs of others will be served."
