From the Paper:
"Richard the Third, otherwise known as the Duke of Gloucester, is an interesting character as he plays the role of a villainous protagonist. The whole play surrounds this evil enigmatic character where he gives plenty of soliloquy and lines aside where the audience is allowed glimpses into his thoughts and the inner-workings of his mind. His character is an intriguing one as he almost seems like a flat, undeveloped villain whereas towards the end of the play, there is some show that he is human underneath his fowl acts."
