"Another aspect which must be pointed out is the fact that while the soldiers in the Regular army would be sent to defend the entire territory of the country, in every possible way, the militia was composed of people who were determined to defend only their own territory. Therefore, it can be said that from this point of view, the Regular Army consisted of the actual force which would defend the country from the British side, while the militia represented an additional source of help for the Army but by no means a fully reliable military presence."
