"However, the concept of community remains important in maintaining a religious identity in a dynamic and changing world. In the Australian context, the Catholic church and school need to implement changes to target the needs of their communities if they are to survive. It is however important to understand that the survival of these institutions do not dictate the survival of faith itself. Faith, as noted above, is a very individual phenomenon, particularly in the postmodern context. Many individuals believe, and choose the specific manner in which they will manifest their faith. The Catholic church and school will survive only if these dynamics are taken into account and implemented in the education process and also in collaborative community projects."
