From the Paper:

"All three of the studies reviewed complied with internal review board requirements and followed established protocols for administering the instruments used. Further, all three studies evinced some degree of effectiveness of the CPT approach in treating their respective populations. Perhaps the most important point that emerged from the review of all three of these treatment approaches was the need to develop a comprehensive assessment of the PTSD patient before proceeding to employ any treatment protocol, particularly where the victim has already been traumatized and any misguided or inappropriately delivered approach may cause an enormous amount of unnecessary suffering. Therefore, those clinicians who would seek to treat this condition would be well advised to remain aware of developments in the field by reviewing these and other relevant studies as time progresses. Certainly, there will likely be an increasing number of studies directed at returning combat veterans from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in the next few years, and future studies should seek to identify common successful stories among this growing body of evidence concerning effective treatment methods for PTSD today."
