This paper discusses how non-Hodgkin's lymphoma affects the lymph system in the body and how a diagnosis is based on the spread of the cancer in the body and the type of cell the cancer has attacked. "A diagnosis of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma is based on the spread of the cancer in the body and the type of cell the cancer has attacked. A biopsy of the lymph nodes is the most common method for diagnosis. It is through examining the lymph tumor tissue that the estimated spread of the cancer and the speed at which new cells will grow is determined--the spread of the cancer will either be indolent or aggressive. The extent of the invasion into the immune system and the stage of the tumor's growth is determined as well ("What is non-hodgkin's Lymphoma?", 2006). "
