Life and Human Rights
A look at how attitudes change over time and the part that the media play in influencing opinion.
871 words (approx. 3.5 pages) | 3 sources | APA | 2010 United States

Paper Summary:

This paper discusses how human development is often viewed as the process of giving expression to values that humans hold important, and how attitudes and opinions have changed over time. The paper goes on to explain how there is no single definition or core set of human values that have been identified and unanimously accepted. In addition, the paper explains how the media is one of the greatest influences on peoples' attitudes, reaching individuals in a multitude of ways with the advent of the Internet.

From the Paper:

"Human development is often viewed as the process of giving expression to values that humans hold important. In this case, it is the attitudes and opinions regarding life and the rights of people around the world. These have changed dramatically over time and in today's society are expressed quite differently than they were even a decade or so ago. Many media outlets advocate approaches to human development based on the society's desires. There are, of course, sophisticated approaches to making policies and managing values that are intentional, particularly in the surges of technological advancements that have been made in recent years. Sometimes it is this different approach that allows new value insights to emerge. Therefore, there is a significant relationship between the state of awareness and the public's comprehension of life and human rights."
