This paper considers the ideas of Jean Piaget, a psychology pioneer who realized that children think in ways that are different from the way adults think. "Jean Piaget was born in 1896 in Neuchatel in the French-speaking part of Switzerland. His father was a professor of medieval literature at the University of NeuchAfActel. His mother, although intelligent, energetic and kind, was also neurotic, something that led Piaget to study psychology, psychoanalysis, and pathological psychology. Piaget's godfather was Samuel Cornut, a scholar who prompted Piaget's interest in epistemology, the study of the nature and origin of knowledge, which was what Piaget regarded as his true specialty.
