An investigation into some factors that influence aggressive behavior.
1,102 words (approx. 4.4 pages) | 5 sources | APA | 2008

Paper Summary:

This paper discusses the influences that play a role in the development of aggression. The author quotes from studies that have shown how hormones as well as genetic connections can impact on behavior in relation to aggression.

From the Paper:

"There are several major biological influences that have been shown to play a role in the development of aggression. The endocrine system, or hormone control panel, has the potential to severely affect a person's behavior. Though higher levels of testosterone are typical of someone exerting aggressive behavior, other studies are now showing the production of too little testosterone or too much estrogen are also likely to affect how aggressive they may be. Differences in sex also account for variation in hormone levels, but there exist individuals who may lie somewhere in the midst of the spectrum, and do not display typical hormone levels resulting in atypical behavior (Morris, 2008). Behaving aggressively has also been shown to increase testosterone (Trend, 2008)."
