In many places, law enforcement officers are not allowed to question suspects about their immigration status. Neither state nor federal agencies specifically keep track of crimes committed by illegal immigrants, even when it comes to the murder of police officers. An official from the Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) has said that there is no uniform system in place..."
